COMFREY BOTANICAL OIL
An earthy, deeply nourishing herbal oil centred around comfrey (Symphytum officinale), one of the traditional healing plants of European herbalism.
Known for centuries as a plant for skin and tissue care, comfrey has traditionally been prepared as infused oils, salves and poultices for areas needing soothing and restorative care. Its leaves and roots contain naturally occurring compounds including allantoin, rosmarinic acid and mucilage, which contribute to its long-standing reputation as a comforting botanical for the skin.
Our comfrey is gently infused into Castor oil and extra virgin olive oil, allowing the plant's oil-soluble constituents to become part of the finished botanical blend. Sweet almond oil brings softness and emollience, while castor oil gives the blend a richer, protective feel. Vitamin E Tocopherol completes the formula with antioxidant support.
This is an oil for the parts of the body that feel like they need extra nourishment, softness and care, particularly dry, weathered or hardworking skin.
Traditionally valued in herbalism for:
Supporting the care of dry, rough and weathered skin
Providing soothing, conditioning botanical care
Traditional topical use around minor bruises and sprains
Helping leave skin feeling soft, supple and replenished
Supporting a comforting massage ritual
Caring for areas of the body that need richer nourishment
